On IberCup's 10th anniversary in 2019 we announced the newest venue for our Youth Football/Soccer Tournaments: Rio de Janeiro (BRA). It's the third Brazilian city where IBC will host clubs and academies to play the world's most popular sport.
IberCup has already held three events in Brazil, two in São Paulo (2018 and 2019) and one in Porto Alegre (2019).
Embraced by fascinating sights, the "Cidade Maravilhosa", popularly known, is embraced by one of the 7 wonders of the World: Cristo Rei . It was also once the capital of Brazil and has one of the greatest symbols of soccer: Mário Filho Journalist Stadium (Maracanã).
The stadium that hosted the final between Brazil and Uruguay in the 1950 World Cup still has the highest attendance record in a soccer match: 199,584 people watched that final where the Brazilians lost the World Cup title at home to the Uruguayans 2-1.
A city that undoubtedly breathes football and will be marked by hosting the largest youth tournament in Latin America.
